A Dramatic Experience: How We Fought Against the Elements and Wild Dogs
Today was a day that tested me both physically and emotionally. As the weather worsened and the rain poured down, my dogs and I were indoors. Suddenly, I heard the desperate cries of my donkey, Bruno. When I looked out the window, I saw that he was being attacked by two wild dogs!
In a moment of panic, Bruno – likely out of fear – jumped into the river. I knew I had to act quickly. Without hesitation, my dogs and I ran outside to rescue the donkey. While my dogs handled the wild dogs, I jumped into the freezing cold water to reach Bruno.
It was harder than I expected. The river had a strong current, and at first, I couldn't even stand properly. The cold water was a real challenge, but I pushed through until I finally reached Bruno. The cold, the rain, and the effort made the moment incredibly intense, but eventually, I managed to get Bruno to safety.
Fortunately, he only has two minor bite wounds, but the main concern was his hypothermia. I too was completely exhausted from the icy water. But we both made it through, thanks to the quick reaction of my dogs and my determination to save Bruno.
What We Can Learn from This Experience
This event has starkly reminded me of how important it is to always be vigilant, especially when it comes to the safety of our animals. Wild dogs can pose a real threat, and it's essential to always prioritize the safety of our animals and ourselves, especially in remote or stormy areas.
If you also live in an area where wild dogs are present, I recommend always keeping a close eye on your animals and taking preventive measures. Whether it’s securing your animals in safe enclosures or following safety protocols on walks – safety should always come first.
We must always remember how precious our animals are to us. They trust us, and in times of danger, we must do everything we can to protect them.
I hope this story shows how unpredictable life can be, but also how important it is to stay calm and act decisively when it matters most.
Stay safe and always protect your animals!

Paul: A Maori and Dog Trainer at MANA ALPHA – Living in Harmony with Nature
In a world dominated by hustle and constant distraction, Paul, a Maori and dog trainer at MANA ALPHA, has chosen a life in harmony with nature. Far from civilization, he lives alongside his pack of dogs, who are not only his companions but also his partners in training and daily life.
Paul brings his deep connection to the traditional values of the Maori people into his work at MANA ALPHA. For him, dog training is not just about discipline and obedience; it’s about mutual respect and trust. In an environment shaped by the harshness of nature and the stillness of the wilderness, he works with his dogs in a way that fosters authenticity, leadership, and genuine relationship.
Through his work at MANA ALPHA, Paul shows the importance of building a strong yet respectful bond with animals. It’s not just about training techniques, but a philosophy rooted in trust, clarity, and leadership. In alignment with the principles of Maori culture, he teaches that true strength and leadership come from the ability to connect with the nature around us and the beings we share it with.
Paul lives a life marked by authenticity, and this is reflected in his work. While he has distanced himself from the world of constant distractions, he has created a place where he and his dogs can live in peace and in harmony with nature. This lifestyle has made him a unique dog trainer – not only in technique but in the philosophy he incorporates into his work.
For Paul, MANA ALPHA is not just about training dogs; it’s about living leadership and responsibility. His life and work are a testament to how powerful the connection between humans, dogs, and nature can be. In a world often ruled by chaos and distraction, Paul reminds us that true strength comes from peace, clarity, and connection to what truly matters.
✨ Milo’s Journey – Trust, Courage, and the Start of a New Chapter ✨
Every now and then, a dog comes into our lives who reminds us exactly why we do what we do.
Milo is one of those dogs.
When we first met him, he was a small dog with a big heart—carrying far more stress and responsibility than any dog should. Every sound, every movement, every change in the house… for Milo, it was all a potential alarm. Yet behind all that tension was a dog who simply wanted to feel safe and understood.
His humans, Carol and Paul, welcomed us with open minds and did something that takes true courage:
they questioned everything they thought they knew.
They chose a new path—one built on calm leadership, respect, and structure.
And Milo?
He began to change.
The first days were challenging. Milo barked at every tiny sound, leapt onto furniture, raced through the house, and reacted intensely to anything unusual. But that’s where real progress begins—not in perfection, but in the mess.
With patient training, clear boundaries, and a sense of security, Milo slowly learned that the world wasn’t working against him—that he could finally relax. Today, he settles into his bed more often on his own, calms down faster, reacts less during walks, and looks to his humans for guidance instead of trying to control everything around him.
This isn’t luck. It’s leadership. Trust. Teamwork.
At Mana Alpha, we believe every dog—big or small, strong-willed or sensitive, working breed or companion—deserves a balanced, stable life. Dogs don’t follow words.
They follow energy. Clarity. Respect.
Carol & Paul have shown what’s possible when you stand firmly for your dog, even when it feels unfamiliar or emotionally difficult.
The progress Milo shows belongs entirely to them.
We are simply honored to guide the way.
Thank you for your trust.
Thank you for allowing us to be part of Milo’s journey.
And thank you for showing what true human–dog partnership looks like.
This is only the beginning.
Milo is on his way. And we are right there with him.
Joe. Mana Alpha.
Joe lives and works where dogs learn to settle again.
Not through force. Not through control.
But through clarity, structure, and calm leadership.
He shares his life with multiple dogs, away from noise and expectations.
In this simplicity, something rare is restored:
true connection without human projection.
Joe works with all dogs, including so-called “high-risk” or “problem” dogs.
He doesn’t believe in bad dogs.
He believes in overwhelmed nervous systems, missing leadership, and misunderstood communication.
Mana Alpha stands for responsibility instead of blame.
Leadership instead of dominance.
Calm instead of reaction.
Every dog deserves a life built on safety, clarity, and dignity.
Torro – Growing Within the Right Framework
Torro is growing up with us.
Not only physically, but mentally and emotionally.
From the very beginning, he is given what a strong dog truly needs:
clear guidance, calm leadership, time to mature, and space to simply be a dog.
No pressure, no shortcuts — only structure, safety, and relationship.
At Mana Alpha, growth is allowed to be slow.
Boundaries are clear, affection is honest, and responsibility lies with the human.
This is how trust is built.
This is how stability develops.
This is how character is formed.
Torro is not being trained to “perform.”
He is learning self-regulation, acceptance of guidance,
and how to grow into his natural strength.
One dog.
One path.
A complete journey of growth — from the very beginning.
🎆 New Year – a big responsibility for our animals 🎆
As we welcome the new year, we wish you health, clarity and inner strength.
But as beautiful as fireworks may seem to us humans, for animals this night is often pure stress, fear and overwhelm.
Fireworks are not a small issue.
For dogs, cats, horses, wildlife and farm animals they mean:
• extreme noise
• uncontrollable flashes of light
• disorientation
• panic, flight responses and sometimes serious injuries
Many animals do not understand that they are “safe” – their nervous system goes into survival mode.
That is why they need us: calm, present and clear.
👉 Right now, leadership is more important than comfort.
👉 Safety does not come from pity, but from calm consistency.
👉 Stay with your animals, create safe retreat spaces and avoid additional stimulation.
At MANA ALPHA, we stand for responsibility – not only in training, but in everyday life.
Dogs are family, yes.
But family needs leadership, especially in stressful situations.
Let’s start the new year consciously:
with awareness, clarity and respect for all living beings who have no voice.
🐺 Calm humans – calm dogs.
🐺 Leadership protects.
Happy New Year
— Team MANA ALPHA
Welcome to the team, Agnes.
Experience cannot be replaced.
It can only be earned.
With more than 50 years of experience in K9 training, Agnes brings a depth of knowledge, clarity, and understanding that goes far beyond trends or modern labels. Her work is shaped by decades of observation, discipline, and real responsibility with dogs.
We are proud to welcome Agnes as part of the MANA ALPHA team.
Not only for her expertise, but for her mindset, her calm authority, and her uncompromising respect for the dog.
She is a true enrichment in every sense — for the team, for the dogs, and for the people who are ready to learn from real experience.
At MANA ALPHA, leadership is built on standards.
Agnes embodies them.
Leadership Comes Before Training
Many people come to dog training looking for techniques.
Commands. Tools. Methods.
What they usually lack is not information —
it is leadership.
At MANA ALPHA, training does not start with the dog.
It starts with the human.
Dogs are highly adaptive animals. They respond to structure, consistency, and clarity. When those elements are missing, dogs fill the gap themselves. This is when unwanted behavior appears — not because the dog is dominant or broken, but because leadership is unclear.
Leadership does not mean force.
It does not mean control through pressure.
And it does not mean emotional handling.
Leadership means presence.
A leader is calm under pressure.
A leader is consistent even when it is uncomfortable.
A leader provides structure without constant explanation.
Most behavioral issues are not training problems.
They are leadership problems.
Pulling on the leash, reactivity, insecurity, aggression — these are often symptoms of instability in the human-dog relationship. Correcting the symptom without correcting the structure leads to temporary results at best.
This is why MANA ALPHA does not offer quick fixes.
We work with repetition, responsibility, and time.
We require active participation from the handler.
And we expect ownership of the process.
Training only works when leadership is clear.
Structure only works when it is maintained.
Results only last when responsibility is accepted.
If you are looking for tricks, shortcuts, or someone to take responsibility away from you, this is not the right place.
If you are ready to lead —
then training can begin.
